Nestled in the Berkshire Hills of New Marlborough, Berkshire Mountain Spring Water is still derived from its original spring dating back to the 1800's. At that time, a dairy farm occupied the 300+ acres and wooden pipes carried the water to the Pike Farm house and barns.
Established in 1970, Berkshire Springs, Inc. began bottling this spring water in 1 gallon and 1/2 gallon bottles for delivery to supermarkets in New York, New Jersey and Boston areas. Star Market, Grand Union and Shoprite Stores were just a few of the places that
Berkshire Mountain Spring Water was found.
In 1972, Berkshire Springs, Inc. erected the 4,000 square foot plant on Norfolk Road outside the village of Southfield, MA. Along with the production of small packages, a 5 gallon bottling line was added. The addition of this line now brought
Berkshire Springs, Inc. into the home and office delivery market.
Since the original building in 1972, additions to the building has brought the total square footage to 22,500 feet. A new bottling room was constructed in 1995 and full automated 5 gallon bottling equipment installed. In 1998,
Berkshire Springs, Inc. entered into small package production once again with the introduction of the 16.9 and 20 ounce PETE bottles.
These 16.9 and 20 ounce PETE bottles are produced under the Berkshire Mountain
Spring Water label and many private label brands.
